When my laptop doesn't go to sleep like it's supposed to and the battery depletes overnight, permanently damaging the battery.
Whoever invented lithium ion batteries is not in my good books at the moment.
Addendum (6:09PM EDT, July 11, 2006): Whoever wrote the "Energy Saver" code in Panther's System Preferences is not in my good books either.

How does that damage the battery? I thought you were supposed to drain the batteries dead as much as possible.
It is good for NiCad and NiMH batteries, but Li-Ion batteries can fall into a "deep discharge" which does serious damage to them, which is why you're supposed to store them with a partial charge (full charges aren't the best for Li-Ion either). Heat also destroys Li-Ion.
How is it the fault of lithium ion batteries if your laptop doesn't know how to turn off?
Good point.
